Clifton Avenue Historic District is a registered historic district in Cincinnati, Ohio, listed in the National Register on December 8, 1978. This historic district is located along an irrregularly patterned route along Clifton Avenue in Clifton. It contains 38 contributing buildings.
This district is significant because the homes in the district are representative of a variety of architectural styles usually reserved for only the wealthiest clients during the latter part of the 19th century. The district is located in one of Cincinnati’s oldest suburbs and had residents who were leaders in establishing Cincinnati’s commercial and industrial growth. The geographic expansion was indicated by the large houses and spacious properties.[2]
